Eastao is an independent studio focused on small-scale Thangka pendants and Tibetan-inspired spiritual jewelry. We began with a simple idea: carry a piece of living Himalayan art with you through an ordinary day.
From Eastern Spirituality to Thangka
Our roots are in Eastern contemplative culture — mala beads, incense, and symbols of intention. Over time we found our focus in the Thangka: the Tibetan Buddhist scroll-painting tradition, with its precise iconography of deities, mandalas, and auspicious symbols. Miniaturizing that imagery into a wearable pendant let us share the craft with people far from the Himalayas.

Respect for the Source Culture
Thangka art is a centuries-old Tibetan tradition. We treat it with respect: we present these pieces as contemporary handicraft inspired by traditional iconometry, not as religious relics or guaranteed sources of power. Where we reference Buddhist symbolism, it is cultural and devotional in nature.
Craft & Material
We favor sealed, wearable constructions — painted cores protected by glass or enamel, set in durable metal frames — so the artwork survives daily life. Each piece is chosen for both its symbolism and its look.
